Abstract EN

This paper aims at investigating the logical mechanisms in the sophistries found in the book “The Misers” written by Aljahid used as one type of arguments.

Because their speeches contain many arguments as mentioned by Aljahid in the Introduction of his book.

The goal of these arguments is to convince the recipients and influence them.

It was noticed that they are perfect in using the deceptive styles, mainly the misleading arguments, to respond to people who criticized them for their avariciousness.

The most noticeable logical sophistries found in “The Misers” are: rapid generalization, red herring, personal argument, appealing to authority, appeal to pity, appealing to trivial people, appeal to consequences, vocalizations, slippery slope, false embarrassment, and false reason.

So, logical sophistry techniques have led to disguise the recipient throughout quarrels and argumentations.
