Employing science fiction in children's novels is a new step in creating a modern style of writing that is based on investing current and future science and technology to serve the child and contribute to fuelling his imagination, developing his talent and directing him in the right way, but this writing has its own characteristics and criteria that contribute to the formation of its structure, which must comply with the conditions of this literary genre.

Hence, this study came to reveal the most important artistic characteristics of the child science fiction novel, in this research, the novel “fairouz and the Mermaids” by Ibrahim Dargothi is chosen as a model, in an effort to highlight the specificity of this science fiction at the level of style, personality, event, time, place, This is through the use of the structural approach in the analysis.
