Abstract EN

Cognitive linguistics is the kind of research which studies language in the mental level.

It aims to understand and explain the way meaning is built in the mind within specific contexts and communicative situations.

It also seeks for the language role in the construction of both the relation between Man and Life and the construction of Life itself, since Man's vision about himself and the world is itself linguistic and language is the only way to get access to the world.

These issues will be our topic of interest in this article using some key terms in the cognitive linguistics; such as, cognition, physical experience, metaphor and so on.

Une orientation qui essaie de comprendre et d'expliquer comment se construit le sens et prend forme dans l'esprit, selon des contextes communicatifs et des situations discursives déterminés.

Elle tente en outre d'aborder, d'une part, la question du rôle accompli par la langue dans la construction de la relation entre l'être humain et l'existence et, d'autre part, la construction de l'existence elle-même.

Et ce, en partant du principe que les représentations acquises par l'individu sur lui et sur l'univers qui l'entoure sont initialement des représentations linguistiques, et que l'individu ne peut percevoir le monde qu'à travers la langue.
