أثر جودة المؤسسات و النمو الاقتصادي على الرفاهية بالجزائر خلال الفترة 1995-2019

Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to measure the impact of institutional quality and economic growth on the well-being in Algeria during the period 1995-2019, using the co-integration approach, vector auto regression (VAR) model, and the granger causality test.

The study found a causal relationship between the institutional quality index and the economic growth rate going from the first to the second .

The results also show an adverse effect of the economic growth rate on well-being, and a direct impact of the institutional quality index on well-being in Algeria during the period of study.

These results confirm the findings of previous studies, that is, the level of well-being is not linked to economic growth but to institutional quality.
