Abstract EN

This study sheds light investigates the role of the state in promoting economic diversification in countries that are over-reliant on the extraction of non-renewable resources, which has result in increase exposure to adverse external shocks and macroeconomic instability.

Algeria are among the countries that relies heavily on its hydrocarbon resources, means it needs to diversify its economy Especially increase the role of industry to protect its long-term prosperity and stability, and for to achieve growth targets this sector, authorities have taken several steps to encourage and advancement of Knowledge-intensive industries.

This study finds that the Government policies need more the focus on the role of information, technology and learning in economic performance, and stress on upgradinghuman capital through promoting access to a range of skills, and development of links between links between education, research and development, innovation In industrial activity, and enhancing the Smart industrial incubators, and to maximise the benefits of Knowledge-intensive productivity.
