The lived situation and the history transmitted or sought find their firmness and meaning through their narration.
According to this point of view, the historical narrative as a translator of experiences and realities, offers a multidimensional and semantically carrying representation of an identity and a memory.
The novel finds here an activity of transmission of the past.
As a result, the novel is remembered.
The effect of memory is certainly capital in this process of the diffusion of culture, customs and history, in the process of identity construction which is never deprived of historicity.
Memory and history are closely linked, as they only form the various aspects of collective identity.

La situation vécue et l'histoire transmise ou quêtée trouvent leur fermeté et leur signification par leur mise en récit.
Selon ce point de vue, le récit historique en qualité de traducteur d'expériences et de réalités, propose une représentation multidimensionnelle et sémantiquement porteuse d'une identité et d'une mémoire.
Le roman retrouve ici une activité de transmission du passé.
De ce fait, le roman fait mémoire.
L'effet de la mémoire est certainement capital dans ce processus de la diffusion de la culture, des coutumes et de l'histoire, dans le processus de la construction identitaire qui n'est jamais privée d'historicité.
Mémoire et histoire sont étroitement attachées, étant donné qu'elles ne forment que les divers aspects de l'identité collective.
