يعد الحزب الشيوعي العراقي أحد الأحزاب السياسية النشطة في العراق في الفترة التي تلت قيام ثورة 14 تموز 1958 حيث أولى الحزب مسألة الاشتراك في النظام السياسي اهتماما من خلال مفاهيمه ومواقفه التي طرحها وبقوة في تلك الفترة وكان الخيار المسلح أحد الأساليب التي اتبعها الحزب من أجل الوصول إلى السلطة متخذا من النظرية (الغاية تبرر الوسيلة) منهجا لتحقيق غايته، و كاد أن يحقق ذلك لولا الأحداث و التطورات السياسية التي شهدها العراق في كل من الموصل و كركوك عام 1959 التي أفقدته تلك الفرصة، كما أن انقلاب 8 شباط 1963، و انقلاب 17 تموز 1968 أتى كل طموحات الحزب و تطلعاته للوصول إلى السلطة في العراق.
Abstract EN
The Iraqi communist party considered one of the active political parties in Iraq after the 14th of July revolution in 1958 where the party has thought of participating in the subject of changing the political regime with its concepts and situations tacked heavily in that period.
The armed choice has been one of the approaches used for reaching the power adopting the theory of (The aim justifies the means) a way to achieve its aim which was about to be achieve but the events and the political developments with by Iraq in both Mosul and Kirkuk in 1959 have made it lose that chance.
In addition to that, the 8th of February 1968 has frustrated of June 1968 has all the party's ambitions and attitudes to reach the power in Iraq.
