Abstract EN

This study, entitled “Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent’s War Plans in His Land Wars in the Balkans (928-948 AH / 1521-1541AD)”, sheds light on a stage in the military history of the Ottoman Empire, as it aimed to present an analytical picture of the Ottoman plans followed in its ground battles On the Balkan lands, and the study showed the leadership competencies and the strategic methods used, and the military tactics applied in these wars, and its impact on achieving victory.

The study dealt with several axes: In its first axis, the study talked about intelligence and information transfer, which had a great role in building plans, organizing the army and choosing the appropriate strategic method, then it dealt with reconnaissance teams and spies with an indication of their importance, merchants and travelers and their role in transmitting information, and mail with the knowledge that His role was not as effective as the desired, then the study spoke in its second axis about leadership competence with its offensive capabilities, including encirclement, circumvention and storming, and the defensive ability, touching on building castles, forts and luring,The study also clarified in its third axis the strategic methods used in these wars of attack, defense and siege, and finally, in its fourth axis, the study showed the military tactics used in these wars, including seizing opportunities, surprise, encirclement, deception and camouflage, and the importance of these methods in the success of these wars
