Abstract EN

This research study deals with the city of Al-Ruwaidah or Rawdat Al-Ardh, its geographical location, and its historical importance by tracking the scattered information in the local sources, and the available local documents, as Rawdah Al-Ardah is one of the cities of Najd, which pledged allegiance early and peacefully to the Saudi state in its three roles.

Its people had a serious participation in achieving the security and stability of the political entity of the Saudi state.

It is an agricultural area whose residents practice agriculture, especially palm cultivation, which produces dates, which is the main food for the countries of Najd, where the sources mentioned that they were exporting dates to the Makkah region.

It also has a strategic location, as it is located on the pilgrimage route from Riyadh to the Hijaz, and it is normal for many pilgrimage convoys to pass through it to and from Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

Despite this strategic importance of the region, it has not received sufficient studies from researchers, and we can attribute this to the lack of reference material available on this region.

The lack of reference by researchers and historians to it, as well as the scarcity of reference and documentary material about the town, and perhaps this research study will be the basis for future research studies that will fill a gap in our local history.

It contributes to the knowledge of the regions of the Kingdom that researchers have not previously written about.

It also motivates postgraduate students at universities to address such research topics that still need further study
