Abstract EN

The process of parliamentary oversight in its sense, objectives and constitutional nature is an essential part of the State's regulatory system.

It is the inherent competence of the Parliament to exercise it by means of control mechanisms that are ranked or not in a position of political responsibility entrusted to it in relation to the work of the Government, in order to ensure the democratization process as an expression of popular will.

Its implementation was therefore a fundamental requirement of the people and politicians who called for the amendment of the Constitution and responded to it with the adoption of the Constitutional Amendment of 2020, which was the inevitable result of recent events in Algeria.

The Constitutional founder tried to address imbalances, balance the powers and restore to Parliament, especially in its oversight function of government activity.
