Abstract EN

This research paper aims to shed light on the issue of the state's economic role, about which the debate has been going on for more than two centuries.

On the one hand, supporters assert that the state has a role in the economy, in which no one can represent it, as a condition for avoiding imbalances and achieving stability, growth and ensuring fair distribution of resources, outputs and income.

On the other hand, opponents believe that the market, with its mechanisms and hidden hand, is capable of achieving the same results in no need for the state, whose role should not exceed the provision of appropriate conditions and climate for the functioning of the market mechanisms as required.

The study concluded that in order to achieve the goals of growth, stability and fair distribution, market forces and their mechanisms must operate completely freely, but within the framework of the state's orientations and strategies, otherwise the situation remains fragile and vulnerable to turmoil and crisis at any moment.
