Management control in the public sector, particularly in public administrations, enters into the New Public Management (NPM) through the use of performance measurement mechanisms.

Management dashboards are considered the most important management control tool.

One of the most important of its objectives is the correction of deviations recorded in the period and not afterwards.

In addition, they are useful decision-making aids.

The results of the study concluded that the strategic vision of management control in public administrations is the most appropriate to the specificities of this sector, and that management dashboards in general, and in particular dashboards, as a fundamental management control tool, are of obvious importance because of the provision of an immediate and up-date information system, the outputs of which are more qualitative than quantitative, in line with the complex nature of the sector, which does not seek profit in the purely commercial sense.

As well as providing a common language that allows dialogue between hierarchical levels.
