Abstract EN

This article aims to understand and explain the role of the military institution during the transition path to democracy in Sudan, as this country is distinguished by a long history of military coups and the multiplicity of transitional paths in it, without this leading to the democratization since independence in 1958, and until 2018, when it witnessed a popular movement led it to another transition path in which the army had a prominent role in drawing its most prominent features after he removed Omar al-Bashir from power and announced that the country had entered a new transitional phase.

The importance of this article is that it will contribute from the use of the "natural path" approach to attain a scientific and objective understanding of the role of Sudanese Army in the transitional path of Sudan after the popular movement that began in December 2018, and its relationship with political polarization that characterizes elites during this stage.
