Abstract EN

Intentionality is considered one of the textual criteria, which works on the success of the communicative process, which did not receive much attention from the study.

As it is the result of the bilateral interaction between the intention of the producer and the intention of the recipient across the level of the text, and any defect in reaching this intention will cause the failure of that communicative process.

As for the prose poem, it expresses the second generation of modernity, which sees in breaking down the language system, which opens up prospects for it to reach new areas of creativity, resulting in texts unfamiliar in their structures, rebelling from the language system.

The research deals with the extent to which the criterion of intentionality is achieved in the prose poem in light of its linguistic reality which it adopted.
