The article seeks to reveal the cognitive vision from which the cinematic language emerges, through modern cognitive studies, which addressed metaphor as a means of communication that is associated with mind and intellectual relationships, so we will try to look for the nature of metaphorical construction within the cinematic language with its limits and complexities, and its intersections with its adjacent forms of expression, so the approach of metaphor was a necessity to understand this work and taste this type of art, so how does metaphor contribute to the formation of cinematic discourse and produce its connotations? Can literary metaphor be considered the same as in cinema? In order to prove this, we will seek an application study in order to clarify the metaphorical images in the films Al-Resala al-Akkad, in an attempt to highlight its role and its artistic and aesthetic value in the film work.

This study aims to restore the metaphorical dimension of the cinematic image as part of the human imagination, despite the widespread controversy on this subject, but we will try to address that controversy when we clarify the features of this phenomenon within the cinematic language.
