Abstract EN

The previous critical methodologies after post-strueturism have paced wide steps to expand the analytical frames and the establishment of their critic constrction and knowledge frame in regard to the text and who make it starting with the remnants of old critic method using the principles of philosophy, though and ending with the specialty of methodology in receiving, questioning and methods of analysis in language and literacy.

These methods were not monopolized by language and literacy in the fields of operation but extended and broke what remained of the restriction which have restricted methods with standard so moved to operational fields to form it’s comprehensive speech which will stimulate the past, wind the present and go into future.

Semiotic method was of them which has drawn its operational boundaries and formed the conceptual field belonging to it through which it can operate.

Semantic method is a method to study the science and life of the signs.

It is a comprehensive method specialized in humanitarian and non- humanitarian activities.

The choice of this study for this thesis was based on the operation validity of this study in studying the old Arabic text س its critic.

This thesis has chosen Jarjani (died in 471 A.H.) specially due to his ability in dealing with the text and its analysis according to inputs of signified and signifier and his study of the ،ext itself.

Jarjani is regarded ،٠ be the fir.؟، who broke the description restriction of the Arabic eloquence and change the field of work in it from description to analysis from the study of text maker to the study of the text.

This thesis is composed of an introduction and three chapters, each contained a preface and two sections.

The dealt with what the criticism and eloquence study have reached before the emergence of Jarjani.

The introduction revealed the research method and the way it handles the Jarjani text in his book “secrets of eloquence which is composed of two parts” the first is the semiotic school and directions starting with its concepts, then forms and terms.

While, the second part of the study is the semiotic part of the criticism and eloquence speech that explain the semiotic treatment of the literary text and its criticism to speech explaining research method in analysis.
