Abstract EN

Dialogue was not an artistic characteristic that has been restricted to the prosaic arts whether ،hey were novel arts or dramatic ones.

It exceeded that and became an artistic characteristic in the poetic text structure.

It conformed an element that has a clear specificity in poetry, unlike prosaic arts that their dialogue conforms a part of their textual structure.

Dialogue in the poetic text acquires this specificity through Its having a structure which is different from those ofthe play and novel, besides, it gives colour nice looking to the poeic text.

Henceforth, we divided the research into two basic axes: the direct dialogue and the indirect one in Ali Ibn Aj-Jahim’s poetry.
