The Libyan state has been facing an internal armed conflict since 2014, which is considered as a dramatic development of the Libyan crisis that the country has been going through since February 17, 2011 revolution and the fall of Muammar Gaddafi's regime.The study examines the set of reasons that led to the complexity of the Libyan crisis to run the country into a cycle of civil war threatening the failure of the state if it goes on without reaching quick solutions.

It also examines the settlement efforts made by the United Nations and the neighbouring countries of Libya and their effectiveness in ending the armed conflict and resolving the Libyan crisis.
