This research examines the historical development of a phenomenon that has conformed a duality in arabic the toric especially simile this duality is the signalers .the compound.
The research attempts at searching for determined concepts of these two terms .this phenomenon is shown firstly in ibn rasheeq al-qayrawani (D.463A.H.) via abdul qahir al-jurjani (D.471A.H.) ,ibn al-atheir(D.637A.H.), as-sakaki (D.626A.H.) to ala’wi and ending with Al-khatib Al-qazweeni (D.739A.H.).
The research a method that does not depend on what is inscribed in books only ,it investigates what is silenced .Intuition may de the only way of this a combined with caution and precaution .Besides, the research does not depend on the theoretical texts that established this “duality” through concepts and terms , it depends on the applicatory texts .the theoretical texts sometimes may not help extract the hidden bases as the way is in this study.
Thus , the applicatory rhetorical texts in all its various kinds (the glorious koran ,Hadith, poetry ,and prose) and the rhetoricians commentaries on their examples our way of uncovering, the bases.
The research concluded four bases on which this “duality” has been established, the thing that makes them dualities as follows : 1- The Hermeneutic Basis.
The commingled Basis.
The chaining Basis.
4- The pictorial basis.
