Granting citizenship to a ship involves multiple benefits, including those related to the ship itself, as well as the passengers and all legal facts and actions on board.

These benefits are represented in exemption from fees and legal protection, whether they are national or foreign ships.

The ship has great economic importance, as it constitutes a mainstay in the field of maritime transport.

During its transit across the seas, whether it is inside the territorial sea or outside it or on the high seas, facts and legal actions may occur on board, foremost of which are births that occur on board, whether during sailing or while in the port.

To know the nationality of these births, there must be a legal system that defines the law The duty to be applied is based on the legislative and judicial systems that can be followed, which have received great attention at the level of private international law.

This is what we mentioned through our research (the importance of the ship’s nationality in relation to the births that take place on board) to get acquainted with everything related to the ship based on the texts of the international conventions on the law of the sea that have been referred to, in addition to the internal laws related to the sea.
