The subject of international standards for the protection of foreign investment is one of the topics that represent a prominent place in international Law in general, and in international trade Law in particular.

We dealt with the subject in two parts, the first of which is the international declarations, including the declaration of permanent sovereignty over natural resources under Resolution No 1803 of 1962, and the Declaration of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in 1979 regarding international investment and multinational companies, and the second is international agreements, Whether bilateral or collective, the most important of these agreement are the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994, and the International Investment Guarantee Agency in 1985.

And that each of the international declarations and international conventions took upon itself the objective and legal regulation of international standards for the protection of foreign investment.

We followed the descriptive and then analytical approach in dealing with the provisions found in relevant international declarations and conventions, and we ended up with a set of conclusions and recommendation fixed in the body of the study.
