Polygraph test is used to measure sudden physiological changes of the accused through spirometry and blood pressure measurement, In addition it may determine the relationship of the accused with the crime, the main purpose of such a test is to detect whether the person p as either accused or witness is telling the truth or lying, however the use of this lie detector may raise the question of legality of its admissibility as evidence as far as its use is regarded as amoral coercion that may affect the free will of the person who is hooked up to polygraph test.

Thus, the results of such a test which are obtained from the person s confession or testimony under pressure cannot be qualified as a criminal proof or evidence.
