The study aims to determine the points of convergence and divergence between Islamic law and Algerian regulations relating to the bank deposits guarantee.

In this context, we began by addressing the meaning of bank deposits and their regulatory consistency in the two legal corpus.

The study then sets out the provisions relating to the guarantee of bank deposits in Algeria and the position of shari’a in relation to this scheme.

The study indicates the existence of a partial convergence between Shari’a and Algerian regulations regarding the guarantee of bank deposits and wishes to see the amendment of certain regulatory texts, in particular the ordinance number 11-03 and regulation number 20-03.
