The study aimed to explain the role of the bibliographies composed as poetry in the intellectual history of Muslim scholars and took from the bibliography of Al-Qudsi (d.

712 AH) and Ibn Al-Jazari (d.

833 AH) as a model.

The study clarified the general structure of each bibliography, the purpose and the approach followed in each of them, as well as determined the numerical and qualitative trend of the books and literature included in each bibliography with an indication of the biographical aspect in them, with an identification of the number and quality of science in each bibliography, reflecting its role in the intellectual history of each of them during the time in which they appeared, whether in a particular science or several sciences.

The study used the historical method as it was familiar with the content analysis method.

The study results showed the superiority of Ibn Al-Qudsi's bibliography in the number and quality of sciences included in books to indicate them as the number of sciences reached (11).

Ibn al-Jazari limited his bibliography to only one science, the science of readings.

Also, Al-Jazari's bibliography was decorated with more books as it dealt with (58) books, while Al-Qudsi's bibliography presented only (19) books, in addition to the variation of the biographical aspect in each of the study's bibliographies, as the general feature of each of them was to mention the biographical data reluctantly, which caused ambiguity in the identification of the biographical data as is the case in determining the bibliographic data in them.
