Abstract EN

This research is focus on the field of digital archiving and how to use the web applications to make primary resources and private collections available.

It starts with the roots of the concept of "virtual archive," demonstrating its importance in the processes of the community memory-making, reviewing written literature in this field in details to identify all the archival fields that have benefited from the capabilities of virtual reality technology, exploring the possibility of applying this technology to our Arabic records of various types and forms "traditional and untraditional", either in the active phase of record "Records Management", or in the historical preservation phase of record "Archival Records".

The research ends with an experiment to apply the virtual reality technology to diverse documentary models.

Two models are chosen for application; first model is revive the architectural heritage through the use of an endowment document contained a detail description of one of the extinct Mamluk mosques "the White Mosque" and the second model is re-establishment of some of the extinct Prophet era records " the messages exchanged between the Prophet (pbuh) and Najashi King of Abyssinia".
