Abstract EN

This study aims to stand on the fact that universities in the Arab world exercise their social responsibility, in face of the various challenges, and the available means to develop such practices, and the extent to which they have contributed to strengthening their role as leaders of development, in the light of certain foreign and Arab experiences that can be taken as successful models in the exercise of and commitment to social responsibility The study found that there are many obstacles to the social responsibility of most Arab universities, such as, the most important is the ence of a complete and clear vision of the concept of community service, the insufficiency of allocated funds, in addition to the ence of social responsibility culture among many leaders and employees of universities.

And given the experiences of some Universities, the study concluded that the social responsibility practices in the Arab League have not yet reached the global average, and most of them are scattered efforts far from being a focus of plans and strategic directions of the university administration.
