The development observed at the international level in the field of environmental matters and their various problems have contributed to the emergence of international organizations that have engaged on the duty of dealing with environmental damage.

The research addresses the contribution of specialized international organizations, whether global or regional, governmental or non-governmental, to the defence and conservation of the marine environment by highlighting the different means and mechanisms used.

For governmental organizations, they prepare conferences, conventions and resolutions with a aspect to protecting and conservation the marine environment.

For non-governmental organizations, their purpose is principally to supervise and control, environmental violations, both of which seek to insure environmental protection.
