This study aims to test the effect of non-performing loans on the performance of commercial banks, Through indicators: (return on equity, return on assets, profit margin rate, leverage rate), Using simple linear regression the period 2017-2019 for the Algerian External Bank - Touggourt agency- The study found that there was no effect between non-performing loans and performance indicators, through the correlation and identification factors, as well as the model test, We find agreement in the direction of change for both non-performing loans and performance indicators the study period.
