In this respect, (Ernest Mercier) is considered one of the most prominent practitioners in the jurisprudential and legal research of the legislative provisions regulating the wakf, such as the issue of the historical and foundational roots of the wakf, and the relationship of the latter with the rules governing inheritance in Islamic legislation, in addition to the problem of the legal nature of wakf property and its impact on judicial work in colonial countries And other issues and other legislative issues that were the subject of scientific analysis and criticism by (Mercier).
