Ibn Kathir approach in reporting Israiliyat in his TafsirThis study investigates Ibn Katheer's approach in dealing with the issue of Israʼiliyyat by deducing the Israʼiliyyat mentioned in his Tafsir, then reviewing them according to the analytical and critical methodology.

The research comprises three sections.

The first part presented Ibn Katheer and his methodology; the second part explains the approach of Ibn Katheer in reporting and dealing with the Israiliyyat, and the last section criticizes Ibn Katheer's methodology.

The study found that Ibn Katheer cited the Israiliyat to be sought after in multiple ways, sometimes commenting, and not commenting other times, occasionally without evidence and with repetition.

This has often subjected him to criticism.
