Prostitution is a social phenomenon known by ancient and contemporary societies, and it is rooted from time immemorial in societies in general, for some of them make it a sacred phenomenon, and some of them criminalize and punish the perpetrators.

prostitution is a phenomenon that receives great attention and that requires studying and addressing the aspects that contribute to its spread.

This analytical study aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of prostitution in Algerian society and its recent increasing rates, this study found that cracking, family disintegration, love affairs, sin and social change are among the most important factors contributing to the phenomenon.
