The current study aimed at knowing how to Activating University Accountability as an Introduction to Improving University Performance, and the study relied on the descriptive approach, and the researcher applied a questionnaire directed at a sample of (650) single faculty members in three theoretical colleges, represented in (Faculty of Education - Faculty of Arts – Faculty of Law) and three practical colleges, represented in (Faculty of Engineering - Faculty of Science - Faculty of Medicine) at Mansoura University.

The results of the study resulted in the study sample responses about the reality of university accountability within Mansoura University, that there are statistically significant differences in the statements No.

(1- 3-4-5 11) in favor of the alternative (neutral) and the rest of the phrases in favor of the alternative (agree).

The values of (Ca2) are statistically significant at the level of significance of 0.01.

The responses of the study sample about university accountability problems within Mansoura University came, as there are statistically significant differences in the phrases (2- 5-10-11) in favor of the alternative (neutral), and the phrases (14-15-16-21-22) in favor of the alternative.

(Neutral), and the expressions (25) in favor of the alternative (neutral), where the values of (Ca2) were statistically significant at the level of significance 0.01, and the rest of the expressions are in favor of the alternative (agree).

Also, the responses of the study sample regarding the requirements for activating university accountability within Mansoura University came, as there are statistically significant differences in the phrases (2-3 - 16-18-25) in favor of the alternative (neutral) and the rest of the phrases in favor of the alternative (agree), as the values of ( Ca 2) is statistically significant at 0.01 level.
