On the occasion of establishing an Arab free trade zone to develop intra-Arab trade by elimination all customs and non tariff restrictions on all goods of Arab origin when they are transferred from an Arab country to another Arab country, with the application of detailed rules of origin to prevent the leakage of foreign goods to Arab countries taking advantage of the advantages offered by them.

The region for Arab commodities.

The provisions of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area do not apply to products established inside the free zones, and the procedures for dealing with these products are not specified in this program.

This means that Arab free zone products are treated as products coming from foreign markets, and therefore any product exported from any Arab free zone into Arab markets is excluded from the provisions of intra-Arab trade, and does not enjoy the customs exemptions stipulated in the agreement.

The research aims to study the problem of treating the products of these areas in light of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area agreement, and how to deal with the products of these areas from the customs point of view.

In order to reach a vision to maximize the benefit from the products of the free zones in a way that achieves a balance between enhancing investment in them and preventing the use of free zones as a passage for non-Arab goods to Arab markets.

In addition to shedding light on the importance of strategic partnership between Arab free zones in promoting intra-Arab trade and investment.

The discussion concluded with recommending the necessity of preparing an Arab agreement to set a clear vision for how to deal with free zone products, and set controls for its work to be one of the activities that work within the Greater Arab Free Trade Area agreement, while strengthening the strategic partnership between those areas.
