Abstract EN

This research paper aims to study the Council of Europe's role in protecting human rights of persons with disabilities in its forty-seven member states, including all member states of the European Union.

In fact, the Council of Europe is considered as a leader organization in establishing effective legal, strategic and institutional mechanisms for persons with disabilities.

The study concluded that the new strategies on the Rights of Persons with disabilities 2017-2023 of Council of Europe considers that people with disabilities are citizens like any others and they entitle to have access to and enjoy, the full range of human rights.
