Across its international borders, Algeria is experiencing a new dynamic of an uncharacteristic influx of African migrants and violations of agreed international laws for entry and residence in receiving States.

As a result, the Algerian desert has been transformed into the capital of African migration from the African coast through different entry points and more dangerous routes than before.

Thanks to the growth of criminal networks involved in human trafficking, the movement of illegal African migrants to the Algerian southern border is being carried out in exchange for a large sum.

They became visible in the major cities of the south, Tamanrasset and Adrar, and north as the capital, Constantine and Oran.

In view of this situation, the Algerian authorities have sought to review their immigration policy in order to combat the phenomenon of African illegal migration, by amending their laws and making them more stringent and by working to dismantle criminal networks.
