Algeria's media legislative system developed significantly after the events of October 1988, when the first media pluralism law emerged in 1990, and despite the positives of media freedom, it became unable to keep pace with the recent massive media technological development, which required the amendment of this law in form and substance, which led the Algerian authorities to pass a new media law in 2012, which referred for the first time in Algeria's history of rights and freedoms related to electronic media activity.
