Abstract EN
The relations between Egypt and Abyssinia are among the most complex, and there are many ties that link the two countries, the most important of which is the geographical link or the Nile River, the lifeblood of Egypt.
The Egyptians went to the Abyssinians whenever Abyssinia wanted to obstruct the course of the Nile or tried to build a dam on it to prevent the water from reaching Egypt.
Abyssinia gave it the right to appoint an Egyptian bishop for the Abyssinian Church, and the Ethiopians cherished the religious bond that linked them to the Egyptian church.
And goodness in most of the history of the Fatimids, and if it was marred by periods of disagreement or tension, Egypt has always been the owner of a high position thanks to its victory and the characteristics of its people For forgiveness and peace.
