The topic shows the role of the French orientalists in napoleon’s campaign on Egypt lately in the eighteenth century, highlighting the reasons that concerning the Egyptian political economic and cultural reality and made France-as the vital country in Europe-contributed to Egypt-as a crucial regency to the ottomans-in terms of the strategic and commercial position that related the east to the west.

the roles of the French orientalists had been distributed on different fields depending on their specialty and concern, according to their position and function to the leaders.

the research shows the ugly truth of the colonial, authoritarian, influential and expansionary orientalism.

it also shows the contribution of those orientalists to the making of the awareness and vigilance of Egyptians and Muslims in general, with their different sciences, concepts and ideas, whether positive or negative.
