The research deals with an analytical study of the ancient Egyptian verb nwr, which is attested from pyramid texts to express a natural phenomena that occurs to the earth, the sky and the clouds, the verb nwr appeared clearly in the Pyramid texts and continued during the middle kingdom in coffin texts (only one text) and disappeared in the funeral texts during the new kingdom, the verb nwr translated to "to shake, tremble, thunder", but the research reviews evidences to re-understand the meaning of this verb and its association with the concept of lightning this phenomenon, which is usually associated in the texts with thunder and earthquake as in nature, Explaining the different types of lightning mentioned in the texts and its nature, The ancient Egyptian linked the occurrence of these phenomena to the pregnancy and ascent of the deceased king in order to his resurrection, The research discusses the association of the verb nwr with the god "Seth" and its role in ensuring protection for the deceased king on his ascension to heaven.
