This article deals with the prose introductions to poetry as an important space in the field of literary criticism, and an accomplished discourse that expresses the author's intentions and positions on issues of poetic creativity, The critical position of these introductions is reflected in the clarifications they provide about the poet's approach and his artistic point of view, whether they are present in the creative text (Diwan poems) that deal with familiar issues, or forward-looking aimed at creating new creative paths, and in what they seek to remove the ambiguity about the privacy of the poems that exist between the two covers of the Diwan In order to bring the reader closer to the poetic experience, and to stop him on the most important major literary stations present in the Diwan, and we have in Al-Maarri's introduction to his diwans "The Fall of the Zend" and "The Necessities" which testify to the role that this type of introduction plays in criticizing poetic creativity.
