Human and social studies, especially historical studies, including those interested in researching the history of religious phenomena in Islamic societies, used to describe the countries of the Maghreb as the countries of zaouias and Sufism and the countries of the righteous.

“if the countries of the orient are the countries of the prophets and messengers, then the countries of the Maghreb are the countries of the saints and the righteous.” based on this description, we try in this study to research the landmarks and appearances of popular religious culture associated with the zaouias and shrines in Algerian society, as a model for what is common in the rest of the Maghreb societies, starting from the Ottoman era, this era whose description was associated with the widespread spread of the phenomenon of Islamic Sufism, tariqa, zaouias and shrines, and the practices associated with it had a significant impact on the political, social, cultural and economic appearances and on important groups of Algerian society.
