In addition to the main role of Parliament in legislation and monitoring the work of the government, we find that the constitutional founder has assigned Parliament some other tasks, as Parliament plays some of the main roles in the exceptional circumstances that the state may go through, and the exceptional circumstances intended are: a state of emergency, a state of siege, The exceptional situation and the state of war.

and we aim through this research to study the constitutional texts in the Algerian Constitution (Amendment (2016) as well as the Amendment (2020) regulating exceptional cases, and to identify the role assigned by the Algerian constitutional founder to Parliament in such cases, while comparing them with the French Constitution
