Abstract EN

Through this research, we aim at highlighting the relationship between "intentionality" and "literary text" in the Arab critical heritage.

Intentionality, overlaps with the literary text, because the literary text is a picture of the author's intention, an aesthetic personification of the image of life in his mind consciousness, and a reflection of his direct life experience.

Thus, we asked: did the Arab heritage critical lesson deal with the profound relationship between intentionality and the literary text (poetry and prose)? Did it elucidate the prospects of reception and its restrictions, the reading strategies and the interpretation of this text? We have concluded that the Arab critical heritage intensely deals with this close relationship between the “intentionality” and the “literary text”; this was embodied in the efforts of: Abd al-Qaher al-Jarjani, al-Amadi, al-Sakaki, Ibn Tabataba, al-Mabard, al-Zajaj, Ibn Faris, Carthaginian, al-Jahiz, Ibn Rashiq and others
