Abstract EN

This study aims at tracing and focusing on the image of heroism in the poetry of Duraid Ibn As-Summah through the accurate investigation of the military dictionary of the poet as a part of the semantic fields.

To clarify this, the introduction of the thesis includes the biography of the poet, Duraid Ibn As-Summah and some information about him.

It defines the concept of the imagery and its importance.

Then the thesis starts to trace the image of heroism in the poetry of Duraid Ibn As-Summah through focusing on the military dictionary of the poet as an attempt to view the imagery and its beauties in his poetry through the image of war, image of heroism and heroes, image of the guard, image of raid, image of sword, image of spear, image of armor, image of helmet, and image of arrow.

This image derived from the subject of heroism is a true expressive image which reflects the poetic talent of Duraid Ibn As-Summah and his knowledge of wars and his military skill its account was conveyed through history and heritage books.
