This research aims to clarify the ambiguity phenomenon the novelist, Dr.
MUHAMMAD HASSAN ALWAN uses in his novel A Small Death; His own lexical items take on the nature of formal and stylistic diversity for the purpose of suspense and excitement, to implant such items in the reader's mind on the one hand, and to protect it from wear and tear on the other hand.
