Abstract EN

The economic literature indicates that public expenditure shocks play a major role in the economy, through their impact on most macroeconomic variables, and this was emphasized by Keynes during the global depression crisis.

As for Iraq, fiscal policy plays a pivotal role in the Iraqi economy, especially on the expenditure side.

Therefore, the study attempted to measure the relationship between public expenditure shocks and some macroeconomic variables represented in GDP, inflation and the exchange rate, through the use of the joint integration methodology and the catalytic response function.

And the ence of a significant impact of public expenditure shocks on inflation and the exchange rate in Iraq for the period from 2004 to 2019.
