The study seeks to demonstrate the importance of religious coexistence in maintaining the unity of societies in Southeast Asia, while clarifying the problems and challenges facing coexistence in the countries of Indonesia and Singapore.

Which succeeded in exploiting ethnic and religious pluralism to achieve political stability and development on the one hand, and religious harmony and tolerance on the other.

This research is an extension of the study carried out by the researcher on the issue of interfaith dialogue in the State of Malaysia.

The researcher reached a conclusion that ethnic pluralism is a strength factor that can be used to achieve national unity, political stability, peace and development.

This result was the basis that prompted the researcher to discuss other aspects of philosophical and religious thought, including whether religious tolerance achieves a kind of peaceful coexistence, or is the opposite aspect of tolerance, which is intolerance and hatred that undermine coexistence between social, cultural and religious components
