This study aims at identifying the level of the social stigma among elderly in the homes of the state.
A random sample of the research community was selected consisting of (100) elderly males in the homes of the state; (Rashad and Al-Sulaykh) in the center of Baghdad.
The researchers built the scale of social stigma, based on the theory of Howard Baker (Backer, 1973), consisting of (30) items.
Honesty has been extracted by several methods, as well as, stability through retesting and, Alpha Cronbach.
The stability factor reached (0.80 and 0.82) respectively.
The researchers applied the measure in its final version to the application sample consisting of (50) elderly people, and the results of the study showed that the sample has a high level of social stigma.
