Abstract EN

The current study aims to identify the level of social interaction anxiety among the blind people.

The researcher used a descriptive research method, as research population included the blind people, whose ages range between (10-18) years at the Al-Noor Institute in Baghdad affiliated to the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and Private High School of Mr.

Hussein Al-Sadr, which is affiliated to the Third Directorate of Karkh Education, and Institute of Nur Imam al-Hussein in Karbala.

Their number reached (236) blind people, and the scale was applied to a sample consisting of (200) blind people, who had been chosen based on the stratified random method.

To achieve the research objective, the researcher has built a social interaction anxiety scale, which consisted of (20) situations, and the researcher verified the validity of the scale through face validity and by indicators of construct validity.

As for reliability, it has been derived by testing and re-testing and it reached (0.83), and also by the method of the Alpha Cronbach equation for internal consistency as it reached (0.76).

To process the data, the researcher used a number of statistical means, including (T-test for one sample, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha equation, ).

The results showed that the members of a sample suffer from social interaction anxiety, and in light of this the researcher came out with a number of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions.
