The bilateral relations between Turkey and Afghanistan are really exemplary, and they have strong and ancient roots since the era of the Ottoman Empire.

Turkey is considered the best real friend of Afghanistan, as they are two close countries even if there is no common border between them.

Afghanistan relied on Turkey completely as it wanted to change its status Based on Turkish aid to it in many fields, the most important of which are educational, health, medical, military and civil education, and the westernization experiences that occurred in Turkey in the first half of the twentieth century brought with it a series of innovations and changes to the entire Islamic world, especially as it greatly affected Afghanistan, which won the struggle for independence before the Republic of Turkey.

Afghanistan was also the second country to recognize the Republic of Turkey after the Soviet Union on March 1, 1923 and the two countries instituted educational and cultural exchange programs after independence.

Turkish schools were built inside Afghanistan, and Turkish army officers were assisted and ordered to train Afghan army personnel.

The foreign relations of Afghanistan changed a lot politically, socially and economically thanks to its relationship with the Republic of Turkey, this close relationship that continues to this day.
